in collaboration with PDMA
In this final session of 3
web casts, SmartOrg discussed optimizing value from selection to
commercialization by changing the portfolio process. Executives at
Inspire accelerated time to market, reduced overhead, and delivered
higher profits. This case study tracks the development of a project
and how it proceeds through the portfolio over time, responding to
changing business challenges throughout the development process.
Participants learned how to successfully address complexity and
uncertainty in a product portfolio, learned successful ways of
prioritizing projects, dealing with risk, resolving conflicts and

This interactive session was
led by David Matheson focusing on optimizing business value by
managing project and portfolio risk and uncertainty. Participants
joined in a dynamic simulation of portfolio decision-making, a
facilitated discussion and share best practices. They learned about
optimizing portfolio returns, achieving portfolio balance, aligning
the portfolio to strategy and managing pipeline risk over time on

Management (SAP PLM) customer value network hosted a customer-centric
networking event on June 15-16, 2010 at the SAP Americas headquarters
in Newtown Square, PA. This meeting was the ideal way to connect with
other SAP customers who are run and evaluate SAP solutions for
managing product innovation, portfolio, development, regulatory
compliance, and life cycle processes. This gathering included
product-lifecycle management (PLM) initiative leaders,
business-process owners, and IT business analysts interested in
leveraging the SAP PLM application in their organizations. The
emphasis was on sharing effective deployment strategies and best
practices to maximize business value from PLM investments.
